Will Apple's iPad revolutionize the way you read?
The iPod revolutionized how we listen to music. The iPhone did the same for how we use cell phones.
They're Apple's two latest mobile devices.
Until now. Now comes the iPad. Its mission is to save the slumping publishing industry.
Apple on Wednesday introduced its touchscreen tablet computer, which has a 9.7-inch display and resembles a large iPhone.
Southwest Floridians had mixed reviews about the device that will allow consumers to take their movies, TV shows, music, games and reading on the go with them.
Industry analysts questioned if the iPad, which allows users to read e-newspapers and e-magazines, would transform publishing.
“I think it’s a promising, exciting development, but to say this will revolutionize the business ... well, a lot of things have to fall into place for that to happen,” said Rick Edmonds, a media analyst at Poynter Institute in St. Petersburg.
Edmonds isn’t sure how advertising will respond to the new device.
