USA Today is attempting to fight a record rate of declining subscriptions by testing an online edition of the newspaper at some colleges according to an Associated Press report. Colleges included in the initiative are Penn State, Indiana, and Missouri.

The electronic version or “e-Edition” of the paper will be available for students, faculty, and staff for free. The e-Edition is a duplicate of the print edition, but includes interactive features and exclusive content such as a university-themed story written by a school.
