Mills & Boon UK and Cosmopolitan launch Cosmo Red-Hot eBooks

Mills & Boon,  the UK’s foremost publisher of romantic fiction announces the publication of the #1 Sunday Times and #1 international bestselling author Sylvia Day to launch Cosmo Red-Hot Reads from Mills & Boon.

Cosmo Red-Hot Reads is a new eBook series published by Mills & Boon in association with Cosmopolitan, the most widely read monthly women’s magazine in the UK, with a readership of 1.4 million* and 2 million** unique browsers to its website, Cosmopolitan.co.uk, each month.

Ms Day, a multi-award winning novelist whose most recent new titles both debuted at #1 on the Sunday Times and New York Times bestsellers lists and are two of the UK’s fastest-selling paperback novels of the last decade, will initially deliver two novellas: the first, Afterburn, will be published as an eBook on August 15 2013.

Her second title, Aftershock, will be released on November 12 2013. Both titles will be connected editorially and feature characters newly created for the Cosmo Mills & Boon series. Afterburn and Aftershock will also be released as a two-in-one paperback in November 2013, the first Cosmo Red-Hot Reads from Mills & Boon title to be published in print format.

“I’m thrilled to be launching the Cosmo Red-Hot Reads from Mills & Boon’s series of fresh and sexy contemporary romances,” said Day. “My stories are known for featuring fun, fearless and Cosmopolitan-type heroines as well as delicious, dangerous heroes synonymous with Mills & Boon.  Afterburn and Aftershock will be no exception. I’m excited to share these sizzling new romances with readers and to do so hand in hand with Mills & Boon and Cosmopolitan, iconic brands known for giving women exactly what they want.”

Mills & Boon, industry leader in digital publishing, intends to publish two original Cosmo Red-Hot Reads titles per month from September 2013. The novels will feature strong narratives focusing on female protagonists who embody the Cosmo ethos, and will bear both the Cosmo and Mills & Boon logos on their covers. The shorter length of Cosmo Red-Hot Reads titles – approximately 30,000 words per title – will appeal to readers on a variety of platforms, including mobile devices.

“We are delighted to be kicking-off our Cosmo Red-Hot Reads series with an author of Sylvia Day’s international stature,” said Mandy Ferguson, MD of Harlequin UK.  “Her addictive stories of adventurous, fabulous women negotiating modern love will enthral our readers, and perfectly capture the spirit of this exciting partnership between Mills & Boon and Cosmopolitan."

“Cosmopolitan readers love romantic fiction and this new eBook series will cover subject matters which they can get lost in,” said Ella Dolphin, Publishing Director of Cosmopolitan. “That’s precisely why we’ve created Cosmo Red-Hot Reads with Mills & Boon - to engage our audience in content they love, whenever they want, on any device they choose.”
