London Weekly launch 'on track'

According to Brand Republic, around 250,000 copies of the newspaper will be handed out in the capital on Fridays and Saturdays.

The plans for the publication were first announced by Global Publishing Group in November and a London Weekly website was launched last month.

Paul Morris, head of advertising at the newspaper, said a number of advertisers are on board for the first issue.

He also claimed the venture would provide new media job opportunities and "fill the void" left in the London freesheet market following the closure of thelondonpaper and the London Lite.
